Holiday Diary

My holiday diary: New Caledonia Holiday

P&O Cruise 2009It was the first day of the cruise aboard the Pacific Sun. Sailing from Brisbane onward to Noumea and Lifou in New Caledonia, and Port Vila in Vanuatu, the South Pacific had always beckoned one with its crisp sea air, interesting and unknown destinations to explore, and overall a thrilling experience.

After all preparation to get ready for the cruise, the brilliant sun and water welcomed us in the heart of the South Pacific. A fantastic island enclosed on all sides by a lagoon as brilliant green as an emerald, New Caledonia Vacations  was almost like our personal insight to a heaven of unquestionable loveliness and natural assets, all in one package. Housing the world’s second largest barrier reef, the lagoon is also the special home to almost 2,000 types of fish, including hundreds of species yet unknown.
Also a powerhouse of activities galore, there was everything imaginable to be done on land and in the sea. From mountain biking, gliding, parachuting, kiting, roller skating, French bowling, microlighting, tree walking, trekking, paying visits to tribal societies, playing squash, tennis, golf on the island to scuba diving, aquatic tobogganing, big game fishing, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing, whale and dolphin watching, fly fishing, spinning, light trolling, wind surfing in the sea, we never fell short of activities in New Caledonia.
